In mid-July, Yonder Mountain String Band will host its 7th Annual Northwest String Summit. In addition to three nights of Yonder, a number of additional acts have been confirmed for the Summit. The line-up also will feature sets from Bill Frisell and Danny Barnes, Drew Emmitt, Bill Nershi and Friends, Keller Williams, Greensky Bluegrass, Great American Taxi and Head for the Hills. The Northwest String Summit will take place at Horning’s Hideout in North Plains, Oregon on July 18-20.
Bonnaroo has confirmed a handful of new acts, including Cat Power, Zappa Plays Zappa, The Disco Biscuits, MSTRKRFT and Chromeo. Cat Power performed at Bonnaroo in 2006, while the Disco Biscuits played the festival in both 2002 and 2006. This year the group is expected to offer one of the festival’s marquee late night sets. Bonnaroo has also confirmed that both Phil Lesh & Friends and My Morning Jacket will play special late night shows on the festival’s outdoor Which Stage. The festival’s second largest performance space has only hosted a handful of late night shows over the years, including Primus, Trey Anastasio, String Cheese Incident and The Flaming Lips.
